WE ARE THE (TREBLE) CHAMPIONS!

“Marching on together, we’re gonna see you win, we are so proud, we shout it out loud, we love you Leeds, Leeds, Leeds!”

HELLO! Still coming down from an absolute stormer of a day yesterday (despite aching all over – bloody train was like a sardine tin on the way down to Manchester and there’s very little space to move your legs at your seat at Old Trafford) – THE MIGHTY LEEDS RHINOS ARE THE CHAMPIONS! And we won the treble too! GET IN!

It was a bit of a nervous second half though, especially when Wigan scored two tries at the start to put themselves ahead, but we finally scored again about ten minutes from time, taking the final score to 22-20 in our favour. I couldn’t watch for the final minute and a half and spent most of it hiding behind a little flag that we got for free inside the stadium but I cheered like hell when we were announced as the Super League Grand Final champions. It’s a fitting tribute for our exiting three stooges Jamie Peacock, Kylie Leuluai and Kevin Sinfield, and we’re going to miss them.

A lot.

So for all the doubters (especially you, Eddie and Stevo from Sky Sports) who said it couldn’t be done – who’s laughing now?

In other news, my work had a charity do for Stand Up To Cancer on Friday, with a bake sale and a couple of tombolas. No idea how much was raised in total but, to me (who was dressed in bright orange with a red tutu for the occasion), it felt like a success.

Right, Formula 1 time, then the rugby union show-down between Ireland (the team I’m now cheering on since England let me down) and the French, so I’ll blog again when I can.
